CNIL event: “air 2026 : Convaincre ou manipuler ? L’éthique du numérique à l’épreuve des urnes”

The law for a digital Republic of 2016 entrusted the CNIL (the French National Commission for Information Technology and Freedoms) with the mission of conducting a reflection on social issues and ethical issues raised by the evolution of digital technologies.

The implementation of this mission has led the CNIL to organize public debates around the new issues of digital, at the crossroads of field and scientific expertise: this is the objective of air events (futures, innovations, revolutions).

The 2026 edition will focus on the manipulation of elections:

  • What are the rights of voters in terms of political communication? How are they protected?
  • What are the processes of manipulation of public opinion implemented?
  • As attempts at interference multiply, are we still masters of our democratic destiny?
