STOA Workshop: Minors in the digital world

This STOA workshop explores ways to assess the risks of social media and AI to minors and how to protect them. The goal is to evaluate the efficacy of proposed technical solutions such as age assessment and parental control mechanisms, and safety engineering for AI (e.g. content filters). The workshop brings together experts from machine learning architectures, child-development science and consumer protection to inform a path toward standards, certification, and the implementation of EU legislative frameworks.
