Measuring the risks and impacts of disinformation: let’s open the discussion!

The study of the impact of mis- and disinformation is one of the most challenging aspects for researchers, but it is also extremely relevant.

Measuring the risks and impacts of disinformation: let’s open the discussion!

Experts like Ben Nimmo, and his Breakout Scale designed to measure the impact of influence operations, have already worked in this field with compelling results. EU DisinfoLab elaborated an impact-risk index which offers an approach to assess the potential impact of single hoaxes.

In this webinar on September 15, Ben Nimmo, Global Lead, Threat Intelligence at Meta, and Raquel Miguel Serrano, Researcher at EU DisinfoLab, who developed the impact-risk index, will present both models on measuring risks and the impact of disinformation, and share how both scales can work together to measure the risks and impact of disinformation.

There will be time for a Q&A at the end of the session to continue the discussion!

Speakers:
– Ben Nimmo, Global Lead, Threat Intelligence at Meta
– Raquel Miguel Serrano, Researcher at EU DisinfoLab

Moderator: Alexandre Alaphilippe, Executive Director at EU DisinfoLab

The replay of this webinar will be available from EU DisinfoLab’s YouTube account shortly after the session.
