Who is lying now? How to Identify and Counter Disinformation

Welcome to an online workshop on innovative approaches to media literacy, disinformation, and citizen participation.

Who is lying now? How to Identify and Counter Disinformation

With the closing of many local newspapers and libraries in rural areas across Europe 24.8% of the EU population who live in these communities (approx 110 million people) are depending more heavily on social media for their news. This is where #disinformation thrives.

Together with our Ideas for Europe project partners, the European Forum Alpbach, The Dandelion Group, the Centre for Democratic Competences, and The European Association for Local Democracy, we are working to support and encourage citizen participation in peri-urban and rural communities.

You are invited to a workshop (two sessions over two days) that explores innovative approaches to media literacy and disinformation – all skills you can use to engage citizens and strengthen your community. No prior knowledge or experience necessary. This workshop is open to anyone who wants to know more about disinformation and how to stop it.
