Leading OSINT research inevitably prompts investigators to question themselves on how doing it ethically. We make no exception: that is why we cofounded ObSINT, a collective that provides resources for professionals conducting open-source investigations. These include the ObSINT guidelines, a framework of good practices designed to help researchers to conduct investigations without compromising on transparency and accountability.
This question was at the heart of a webinar hosted by EU DisinfoLab on May 19th, featuring Georgios Terzis (professor at Brussels School of Governance), EUDL researcher Maria Giovanna Sessa, and our COO, Nelly Pailleux. She presented how ObSINT guidelines help researchers to conduct investigations without compromising on transparency and accountability.
